Our customers come to us with all kinds of ideas and sometimes their drawings or photos. Whether you’ve just got a few thoughts or detailed plans we’ll engage with your project in detail adding our own input wherever needed until we’ve got a great concept. This is only the start of the ring design process.
On the way to arriving at the final sketch we’ll talk about materials, stones and features in detail. We work with a variety of precious gold, white gold, silver & platinum metals. We can take you through a vast range of options for precious stones suitable for almost any style or scale of bespoke ring.
3D Design & Prototyping
At A&M Diggle we maintain all of the traditional disciplines of jewellery craft but don’t hesitate to employ the most modern tools to deliver the very best. We take our sketches and render them into an accurate 3D computer model. This allows you to see the plan come to life and we can work with unparalleled accuracy based on the model.
Some ring making techniques benefit from prototyping and casting. Our computer models can turned into real objects with 3D printing allowing us to cast with great accuracy and hone the final piece to perfection. The use of this technology is also helping us push the boundaries of what’s possible in ring craft. If your bespoke ring concept is advanced and innovative, we’re ready & eager to hear all about it.
Forging your ring
Every bespoke ring we create is made on-site in our Liverpool workshop by our team of craftsmen. Our family have been doing this since 1952 and enjoy both decades of experience and state of the art metallurgy tools. This ensures each and every piece we make is special, unique and fully realises our customer’s ideas.
Our workshop contains a host of tools that you would have found in a similar workshop over a hundred years ago but alongside those are much more modern pieces of equipment that add to our capabilities. Our laser welding machine allows for extreme precision in the construction of intricate rings and our range of modern buffing, polishing and fine cutting tools equip us for any custom ring commission.
It’s always a special moment when we reveal the finished product to our customer. No matter how good the 3D model, nothing will prepare you for the real thing. Each bespoke ring will of course come perfectly polished and presented in a luxurious A&M Diggle case and yet our service doesn’t stop there. You can rely on us to clean and maintain your jewellery through the years.
We retain full details of the rings we make. This enables us to perform complex repairs should they be needed and even make complimentary additional items. Should some sad event take place that requires us to replace your beloved item, we’ll still have the blueprints to develop an identical replacement.
